"My 91 year old dad can no longer drive and, therefore, sold both of his vehicles during first week of October 2024. This office was contacted on October 8th to cancel the policies and to submit a refund (pro-rated) request. Called 3 times and all 3 times was told the policy was canceled and that the refund is handled at the HQ. Yet, my dad got a renewal notice at the end of November—which can only mean one thing—the policy was never canceled. Today was chatted with a State Farm rep to explain the situation and they said it needs to be handled with the local agent. I explained to the chat rep what I just shared with you. It’s not happening. There is no follow-thru. Just empty words. Needless to say, I’m not going to stand by and let them pretend this didn’t happen. I don’t care if the pro-rated refund is a penny. It’s the principle of the thing—but especially don’t say the policy has been canceled only for a renewal notice to be sent 6 weeks later."

We did cancel the vehicle policies as requested, but unfortunately, it takes 2-3 weeks to fully process the changes. The renewal notices were likely sent out before the cancellation was fully processed, resulting in a crossover in the mail. We want to assure you that a refund check has been issued and mailed. If you have not received it or if there are any further issues, please don't hesitate to contact our office directly, and we'll be happy to resend it if necessary. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this for your father."
